Trick or Treat, Indie style

Did you just get invited to a costume party?
Did you not realize today is Halloween?

Whatever the case, if you need an entire costume or just some accessories to perfect your look, skip the chains and keep it local.  There are still lots of indiegainesville businesses you can go to for costume inspiration and decorating help.

1383038_10151652400736782_848406822_nWe got our costumes squared away, with the amazing help of independent store we know and love as Persona. If you don’t have a costume, head there NOW. Do not wait. Get the costume and/or accessories you’ve dreamed of for a very reasonable price. Nava O. and her staff will be more than happy to help you; they also know what they’re doing and are brimming with creativity and unique ideas!

If you’re into the traditions surrounding Halloween, you’ll want to head to Alternatives . Alternatives is a funky store with fair-trade items from all over the world: candles, Buddhist prayer flags, jewelry, soaps, sarongs, hemp shirts, wallets and bags, home decor, fair trade coffees and hot sauces and chocolates…there’s a little bit of everything at Alternatives, and definitely something for every one.  At Alternatives, you’ll find all sorts of Día de los Muertos items and decorations to help set the mood for Halloween and the day after, better known in the United States as the Day of the Dead.

Do check out both of these amazing stores as you create an AlternativePersona for Halloween this year. If you don’t need a costume or are set already, we still recommend supporting these two classic-indieGainesville businesses!
